Proposed increases to UKVI Visa and Immigration Health Surcharge fees

Whilst the dates and timings are yet to be officially confirmed, the UK government has announced a proposed increase to the Immigration health surcharge fee (IHS fees) and UK visa application fees payable by foreign national to UK entry clearance, extension (further leave) and settlement (ILR) visas.

Increases for visa application fees:

  • Work and visit visa fees to increase by 15%
  • Entry clearance, leave to remain, settlement, citizenship, student visas and nationality applications to increase by 20%
  • Indefinite leave (settlement) application fees (including skilled worker, spouse and long residence will increase to at least £2885 per person.

Immigration health surcharge fees (IHS fee)

  • Work based and family based applications: The immigration health surcharge (IHS) fee is due to increase from £624 to £1035 per year
  • Child, student and youth Mobility applications the fee will increase from £470 to £776.00.

Abolition of other fees

The following fees will be abolished:

  • The biometric enrolment fees of £19.20
  • Transfer of conditions fee of £161.00
  • Fees for amending details such as name, nationality and photographs
  • Fees for replacement BRP cards
