David joined the firm in 2018 and prior to that had been a partner at another large West End practice for over 10 years.
He has a wealth of experience advising a broad range of clients on Inheritance tax, Wills, Trusts, and winding up estates including multi-jurisdictional and high value estates and those with claims for business property and post-death tax planning.
David also specialises in contested estates including claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family & Dependants) Act 1975, and is currently studying for the STEP advanced paper in trust disputes.
He has expertise in dealing with Court of Protection applications, including deputyships, and advises on the use and preparation of lasting powers of attorney, Advance Medical Directives and Declarations of Trust.
He also advises trustees and beneficiaries on their rights and is well versed in working alongside accountants and financial advisors to provide clients with a bespoke service.
Qualifications and Experience
David gained his LLB and MA (Economics & Philosophy) from the University of Aberdeen and was admitted to the roll of the Law Society in Scotland in 1992 where he practiced for several years before being admitted in England and Wales where he has practiced since 2000.
He is a member of the Law Society Private Client Section and an affiliate member of STEP.
